File Extension DAA

DAA is used for disk image files created by PowerISO software. DAA stands for Direct Access Archive. The extension can be converted to other formats using third party applications under cross platform operating systems including PC, Mac, and Linux.

PowerISO software is designed to work on most Windows operating systems including Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows XP, Windows 2003, and Windows Vista. Since PowerISO can only be installed on Windows operating systems, some platforms have limited support for it except for plain conversion.

PowerISO can also support other image formats such as BIN, ISO, NRG, CDI, and the native DAA. DAA is an advance type of image file format that is capable of compressing and splitting files in to multi volumes making it lower in sizes. It can also provide password protection for a file.

Some damaging viruses and worms are programmed to contain DAA file extensions. These include worms that can change the host file of a computer, steal cd keys, and performs DDOS attack on several servers.

Free program, AcetoneISO, can easily convert DAA files into ISO under Linux operating system. DAA files can be extracted and converted into ISO files under Linux and Mac through the command line tools provided by PowerISO.
